Precision Care

Microscopic
Dentistry.

A microscopic dentistry consultation examines your teeth under up to 24x magnification — the same technology used across our root canal, restorative and diagnostic procedures — to catch what a standard visual exam can miss.

Microscopic dentistry under high magnification

What It Is

Seeing what the naked eye can't.

Hairline cracks, early decay between teeth, failing margins on old fillings, and subtle canal anatomy are frequently invisible to unaided vision, even to a trained dentist. A microscopic consultation uses high magnification and focused illumination to examine these details directly, rather than relying on an X-ray or visual estimate alone.

This isn't a separate treatment in itself, but a diagnostic and planning approach used across many of Aura's procedures — root canals, crown and filling evaluations, crack detection, and second opinions on cases another clinic may have found difficult to diagnose.

Why You May Need This

Signs it's time
to get it checked.

The Process

What to expect,
step by step.

1

Discussion of Symptoms

Your concerns and history are reviewed to focus the examination on the right area.

2

Digital X-Ray

A baseline X-ray is taken to complement the visual and microscopic findings.

3

Microscopic Examination

The tooth or area of concern is examined under high magnification for cracks, decay, or other issues.

4

Findings Review

What was found is explained clearly, often with images captured through the microscope.

5

Treatment Recommendation

A specific, evidence-based recommendation is given based on what the examination actually shows.

Common Questions

Answers before
you ask.

Is a microscopic consultation the same as a regular checkup?
It's more detailed — regular checkups are visual and X-ray based; a microscopic consult adds high-magnification examination for finer diagnostic detail.
Can I get a second opinion using microscopic examination?
Yes — this is one of the most common reasons patients book this consultation.
Does the microscope get used for actual treatment too, not just diagnosis?
Yes — the same microscope is used during root canals, restorative work, and other procedures at Aura for greater precision.
